Advanced Scratch

Did your child enjoy our Beginner Scratch workshop?

Our Advanced Scratch workshop builds on the knowledge gained from Beginner Scratch by revisiting previous topics at a deeper level.

Students will learn to solve more complex problems and build larger projects. These projects all introduce new coding concepts in a fun and engaging way. By the end of this workshop, students will have the skillset to create their own games with minimal or no help at all!

Target age range: 8 - 15 years old

Prerequisites: Beginner Scratch, Music x Scratch, or equivalent experience

Continuation: Beginner Python or Music x Scratch

Concepts Covered:

o   A more in-depth dive into Scratch features (Motion, Looks, Sound, Events, Control, Sensing, Operators, Variables)

o   Nested Loops and If-Statements

o   Lists

o   Variables

o   Functions

o   More complex use cases for If-Statements, Loops, Variables, and Operators

Projects You’ll Make:

o   Grocery Catch Game

o   Magic 8 Ball Game

o   Snake Game

o   Motion Sensor Game
