How to Kickstart Your Child’s Coding Journey

Coding is a superpower in today’s world. it is becoming an on-demand skill for many job positions, and is an ability that could upskill employees, as well as whole workforces.

As the tech sector continues to grow, coding has been deemed “the language of the future”—not only referring to the future of work, but also of the world we live in. Learning to code from a young age can therefore set your child apart from other job candidates in the future, and open new doors to a variety of professions.

Below are a few ways to kickstart your child’s coding journey!

1. Build your child’s skill set on their interests.

Motivate your child to learn with topics they are already passionate about, be it music, games or writing.

At C.O.D.E., we offer a range of classes that can be tailored to fit each child’s interests. For example, our Beginner and Advanced Scratch classes introduce coding to children with fun visuals and challenges, and will ultimately guide each student to create their own online games.

For music lovers, we also offer Music x Scratch courses where our students can explore music, coding, and learn how both cross paths.

2. Sign up for coding classes.

If you and your child feel ready to sign up for coding classes, we offer a range of classes that guarantees your child will have fun while learning and taking on new challenges!

Once you have explored your options and decided on which class fits your child’s interests, you are welcome to register for 1 on 1 classes with us here.

3. Stay engaged.

Be curious—ask your child about the project they are working on. By asking them what they are trying to do and how their project works, you help them break down the problem, and have a better understanding of the task at hand.

4. Make learning to code fun!

Once you are enrolled in one of our classes, making coding fun is easy! Our classes are tailored to fit your child’s learning needs, and will allow them to tackle challenges in a fun and stimulating environment. If you wish to ensure that our classes are the best fit for your child, you can book a consultation with us here!
